A fairly accomplished time at home. Just about everything on the business list got done. Really, even the forms for converting our business from a simple partnership to an LLC are ready to be mailed off, along with a $100 payment. I closed out January today at least. So that's something. In fact on the business end pretty much everything is done, except actually setting up the LLC. I found Publication 3402, which states that an LLC can be taxed as a simple partnership, which is what we're doing now. Though if I send in uh, form uhhhh...what's that number again? Yeah. I turned into a plumber today. Just call me Luigi. First, I unclogged the bathroom sink. I knew it would be a series of escalating steps. So I tried the easiest one first, which is just letting the water run till it backs up, putting the plunger over the drain, and whaling away. That didn't do it. Well our old Samsung phone of 10yrs or so is finally on its way out. The touchpad's working only intermittently, and even a factory reset only partially solved the problem.

Whoa. So we did a staging load in the Portland area Friday. Spent the night in Portland so we could clean out the truck Saturday and get home, which we did. All went smoothly that way. So yay! I managed to get that lighter plug off the 12V power strip with a soldering iron. It just basically melted whatever was stuck together. Only to discover there's still one end of a fuse still sticking in the holder. I'm gonna need the pliers to get that out, and probably the soldering iron too, and of course the pliers are in the truck right now ( Read more... )

Way to go! We had the telephone repairman over yesterday to both find out why our home system gave nothing but a phone off hook signal and to get the FIOS router. Found out that since this house was already wired for cable TV in several different spots, he just put a splitter on, and now we can move the router to any room in the house that has a ( Read more... )

I TRIED getting my resume out to various trucking places today. Got to the first place the Walsh Trucking yard in Willamina. Turns out that's pretty much all it is, a yard, a maintenance building, and a fueling stop.
